The tradition of Welsh storytelling was the starting point for "The Pobl of Wales", a media-based landmark erected at the Second Severn Crossing Bridge on the border between England and Wales. Two steles, conceived as 21 metre-high steel frame constructions covered with white polycarbonate tiles and integrated, all-over LED illumination, show the film “Portraits of Wales.” A dialogue between two people, a storyteller and a listener, is the underlying concept. The stories can be listened to in Welsh and English on a specific radio frequency and, in the form of an audio play, accompany the passing driver for around five minutes.
