In the frame of his teaching activity at the Basel Academy of Art and Design, Prof. Uwe R. Brückner’s main focus concerns instructing theatrical structures in exhibition design, their creation and realization. As a founding member of the Institute of Spatial and Scenographic Design (IN3) he is one of the initiators of a design doctrine, which - in combining four professions: architecture, design, interior- and stage design - provides designers with interdisciplinary, project oriented and innovative educational modules. In addition Uwe Brückner was appointed to a visiting professorship at the Karlsruhe Academy of Design in the faculty for Exhibition Design. Since 2002 he is member of the Art Directors Club of Germany, Dept. »communication IN Space«. 

An acknowledged authority on the subject of Scenography Prof. Uwe R. Brückner is invited to numerous lectures and symposia around Europe and Asia.
