Located next to the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, the newly designed Assalam museum tells the story of this holy place. Media environments and high-quality artefacts convey the historical, cultural and religious significance of the mosque, in which Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) is buried. The use of light plays a central role, the light is also a metaphor for the Light of God and acts as a guidance for the visitors. Almost the entire exhibition is designed as a darkened, black space without visible boundaries. Daylight falls through shafts and permeates through ornamental windows, illuminating the exhibits and guiding the visitor through the exhibition.
