The Hempel Glass Museum holds Northern Europe's largest private collection of European glass from the 15th to 19th centuries. It was initiated by the manufacturer Jørgen Christian Hempel and opened in 1965 as a place of encounter. The exhibition is laid out as a course around a central, roofed courtyard that can be used for events. Reflections of the translucent objects in the space create an experience in which space, object and visitor interact in a subtle way.
