On the trail of Roman history: The design and concept of the existing Limes Museum in Aalen has been restaged concerning content and design. Visitors can dive into two different worlds and experience life in the ancient world and eventually become archaeologists and Limes scientists themselves using the interactive excavation site.
The Limes has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and can be traced in present-day Baden-Württemberg over a length of 164 km. Between 160 and 260 A.D. it was used as a boundary separating the Romans and the Germanic peoples. The exhibition focuses on both cultures as well as on the meaning of boundaries in the past and at present.
