Maison Jean Monnet 2019Bazoches-sur-Guyonne
The former home of Jean Monnet provides a museum setting for an insight into the life and work of the statesman who was one of the founding fathers of the European Union. The exhibition experience begins in the historic garden with the presentation of Jean Monnet as a young cosmopolitan. The ground floor covers the years from 1945 to 1979: the historical rooms present decades of Monnet's work, which – amongst others – took place here. Visitors also get to know the private man, learning more about his character and his family life. The upper floor conveys Jean Monnet's legacy for Europe. Interactive media stations provide up-to-date information on the EU and its inhabitants and show how European decisions affect our daily lives.
