The Milchwerk, a central venue of the community Radolfzell on the western shore of Lake Constance, is going to be fitted with an attractive foyer and an inviting access for physically impaired persons. The red, 43 meters long ramp points towards the new main entrance like a visual exclamation mark and also bridges a staircase in the entrance area. A new lighting concept adds to the room's amenity value. Thin, illuminated curtains allow the generous foyer to be divided into variable compartments. Their arrangement picks up on the flowing outline of a milky white splash, which spreads out on the floor, paying reverence to the former function of the building. The industrial character of the utilised materials and colours strengthens the historical identity of the building.
