Tradition and Modernity – Past and Present – New and Old. Following from the permanent exhibition ‘Oceania’, the idea of the island world is applied to the presentation of the Asian continent in the second interior courtyard of the Bremen Überseemuseum. A geographical structure shapes the design concept. Asia’s contrasts and diversities are represented by six various thematic categories which differ formally but together create a unified whole.
