The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has officially opened its doors. The 2,013 square metre exhibition invites visitors on a journey from earth to ether. Combining cultural heritage with forward-looking themes such as sustainability, healthcare and space exploration, the scenography uses natural materials, interactive media and the iconic date palm as a central design element. The pavilion offers an immersive experience that celebrates the UAE's dynamic identity - rooted in tradition and embracing the future.

ATELIER BRÜCKNER has won the competition for the architecture and exhibition design of Museum Selma in Cologne-Kalk. The museum, currently under development, will be Germany's central institution dedicated to migration - not a regional archive, but a vibrant, open cultural centre. Housed in the historic Hall 70a of the former KHD factory, the design carefully builds within the existing structure, using architecture as a metaphor for society: layering the past with new impulses. Museum Selma is set to open towards the end of the decade – as a lively meeting place and a spark for urban transformation.

The Hellenic National Archaeological Museum in Athens, one of the world’s most significant archaeological museums, is set for a major modernisation and extension. The project, developed in collaboration with David Chipperfield Architects Berlin, emerged from an international competition.

The new extension will seamlessly integrate into the public garden with expansive window frontages, fostering a dynamic dialogue between interior and exterior. ATELIER BRÜCKNER's exhibition design follows a minimalist yet impactful approach, placing historically significant artefacts in distinctive settings that elevate each piece and allow it to tell its own story.

The "Gutenberg-Museum MOVED", an impressive interim exhibition, opened this Friday in the former Reichsklarakloster in Mainz. Two original Gutenberg Bibles, interactive media stations and a design language inspired by the magnificent Bibles create an experience that immerses visitors in Gutenberg's life and places his achievements in a contemporary context. ATELIER BRÜCKNER was responsible for the general planning as well as the exhibition, graphic- and media design.

Our concept "Future Lab Stuttgart", developed with Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schuster, has been awarded one of five prizes in the international ideas competition "Space for Ideas". The competition sought visionary concepts for the area between Stuttgart’s main station and the future Rosenstein Quarter.

The jury praised our "Future Lab Stuttgart"  for celebrating the city’s heritage as a global hub of innovation and engineering, emphasizing collaboration across generations to shape the future.

Our Managing Director Shirin Brückner has been named in the Power 10 of the Blooloop 50 Museum Influencer List 2024, an honor recognizing leaders shaping the future of museum and exhibition design. A nominator shared: “Shirin’s leadership and commitment to sustainable, culturally diverse spaces exemplify the qualities of a true industry trailblazer.” Presented in collaboration with BeWunder, the Blooloop 50 celebrates the creativity, vision, and impact of the field's top 50 influencers.

Michel Casertano became partner and shareholder at ATELIER BRÜCKNER on 30th September 2024. The architect has been with the firm since 2005 and an Associated Partner since 2012. He has been working alongside Prof. Eberhard Schlag, overseeing architectural projects. His expertise lies in the revitalisation of historic buildings, the creation of new cultural spaces, and architecture with a scenographic focus. "ATELIER BRÜCKNER is my professional home, and I’m excited to expand our architectural vision in this new role, both conceptually, organizationally, and with an emphasis on sustainability," Casertano remarked. His notable projects include the cultural ensemble Wagenhallen in Stuttgart, the GS Caltex Expo Pavilion in Yeosu, the conversion of Bocholt Textile Factory, and the BMW Museum in Munich. A respected speaker, guest critic, and juror, he was also teaching media at the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts from 2009 to 2013. Managing Director Shirin Frangoul-Brückner commented that "Michel Casertano has profoundly influenced our work with his remarkable talent and unwavering dedication. His appointment not only strengthens our leadership but also paves the way for the continued success and growth of our firm."

“Shirin Frangoul-Brückner's influence on the design world extends far beyond her role at ATELIER BRÜCKNER. Her outstanding methods in storytelling and multisensory design have had a lasting impact on museum and exhibition design,” explained the jury of the SEGD Fellow award, one of the highest honors of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD). Shirin Frangoul-Brückner accepted the award on September 28, 2024 in Dallas.

“I am very grateful for this recognition and honored to be part of such a distinguished group of past award winners. This award, which is dedicated to my entire team, also emphasizes the importance of creating narrative spaces that bring culture and history to life and inspire people,” says the Managing Director and architect. She is joined in receiving the award by graphic designer and typographer Stefan Sagmeister and Marquis Stillwell, New York designer and documentary film director. In addition, the Ephesus Experience Museum designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER received one of the SEGD Global Design Awards.

The SEGD is an international organization based in Washington DC that specializes in the design of spatial experiences through graphic elements. It has been awarding the prestigious Fellow honor annually since 1987. 

Cultural heritage - experienced in a new way: The Zeyrek Çinili Hamam in Istanbul combines the traditional bathing experience with a visit to a museum. ATELIER BRÜCKNER developed the brand and exhibition concept as well as the signage system. Time magazine named the bath one of the 100 greatest places in the world in 2024.

ATELIER BRÜCKNER was awarded the coveted nails twice at this year's ADC Festival: The Ephesus Experience Museum and Zeyrek Çinili Hamam won silver! We are delighted about this important award.

The Neuenmarkt railway station was officially reopened today. ATELIER BRÜCKNER revitalised the historic ensemble of reception hall, social building and goods shed. The renovation integrates the station building as a new meeting place into the grounds of the German Steam Locomotive Museum.

Now it's official: Our exhibition "Wonders of Medicine" in the Novartis Pavilion in Basel has been awarded the golden iF Award! We are celebrating with all project partners who made this project possible together with ATELIER BRÜCKNER.

The Landesgartenschau 2024 in Wangen is now officially open - and with it the "Holz-Naturfaser-Pavillon", whose exhibition was designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER in cooperation with the IntCDC / University of Stuttgart. It shows 13 innovative timber construction projects from the Landesgartenschau and provides information and insights into sustainable timber construction.
